Ilze Abola is a Latvian violinist, born in 1992. After learning the piano under her mother’s guidance at the age of five, she started her violin studies a few years later at E. Vīgner's Kuldīga Music School. The following studies include the Music College of Ventspils and Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music. In 2013 through Erasmus exchange program she started her studies with professor Gunars Larsens in The Haute école de musique de Lausanne (Switzerland) where she continued with Master Concert diploma with Prof. Sergiu Schwartz and finally her Master Orchestra studies that she is finishing this summer, in the class of Prof. Francesco De Angelis. Based in Milan since 2018, she is playing with the Academy Orchestra of Teatro Alla Scala. Her previous orchestra experience includes the summer academy in the Biel Solothurn Symphony Orchestra (Switzerland) and various youth orchestras as the Neue Philharmonie München (Germany), Touquet International Music Masters (France) and others. She has always been passionate about the orchestra playing as well as chamber music – together with her string quartet she has organised concerts and participated in the Swiss Chamber Academy, besides she is regularly playing in chamber music festivals in Latvia.
